Our intention is to provide a safe and inclusive* experience for young people to be engaged and connected, that is grounded in Science of Mind Principles and is in alignment with the Heart & Soul Vision of being a loving and compassionate, world class teaching and empowerment ministry.

Dr JoDana CampbellDr. JoDana Campbell is a retired educator, visionary leader, and youth spiritual education advocate with more than 30 years of experience in public education. Across her career, she has served students, teachers, schools, and communities by creating learning experiences, programs, policies, and systems designed to support growth, strengthen instruction, and expand what is possible for young people. Her work has included teaching across age levels, preparing and supporting educators, guiding credentialing programs, shaping curriculum, contributing to board policy, and developing educational initiatives for the State of California. Through each of these roles, Dr. Campbell has been guided by a deep belief that education is sacred work—an opportunity to recognize potential, awaken purpose, and create conditions where people can grow into the fullness of who they are.

Dr. Campbell’s professional path has been guided by a deep belief in the potential of young people and the power of education to transform lives. She brings a strong ability to see the whole system, organize ideas into meaningful structures, and create pathways that help people, programs, and communities work together with greater clarity and purpose.

Since joining Heart & Soul Center of Light in 2019, Dr. Campbell has served the community through ushering, virtual service with Team Occupy, and Youth & Family Village. She currently serves in leadership with Youth & Family Village and as Secretary of the Heart & Soul Center of Light Leadership Council.

In this season of her life, Dr. Campbell’s ministry is centered on youth spiritual development. As a lay leader, she feels called to help children and families understand and live Science of Mind principles in practical and meaningful ways. Her work is spiritually grounded, culturally responsive, and rooted in African-centered educational values.

Dr. Campbell holds two master’s degrees and a doctorate in educational leadership, with graduate study at California State University, East Bay, and Mills College in Oakland.
