Love is the Key

“Love is the victor in every case. Love breaks down the iron bars of thoughts and sets the captive free.” – Ernest Holmes
For several years now, at the beginning of each month, I take the opportunity to embrace the practice of claiming God Qualities and personal themes to reflect upon. This month’s focus is on Freedom and Liberation and I have been looking within, navigating my inner landscape as well as the outside world. In particular, I am reflecting on the refugee children being held captive in cages, separated from their parents. My heart has been heavily laden with compassion and sorrow for the questionable actions and unconscionable conditions seemingly created by others. My mind has been wrestling to comprehend those who justify their actions based on misinterpreted Biblical references.
Recognizing I am in judgement and momentarily engaged in the separation game, I am thankful for my “tools for living”, and employ our community’s gratitude practice: “Thank you for everything, I have no complaint whatsoever.” Up until now, I mostly applied this tool personally, but not on a national or international level. The old pastime of armchair-quarterbacking life revealed itself, and I reminded myself I have a choice. I have more peace in consciously shifting my thoughts to what I desire and holding that firmly as my vision. Rather than reacting to TV images, I root myself in knowing the Truth of Connection, Oneness and God as Source and the exquisite power of Gratitude and Love.
Affirm: Today, I choose Love to liberate me and humanity. We are one.
