“…find at least one thousand different ways to say ‘I love you’ in a week.” The Voice Of Knowledge by don Miquel Ruiz, pg. 141
It’s easy to find things to complain, worry, stress, or ruminate about. We do it every day. Someone cuts us off in traffic, we misunderstand what someone says, we fear we will lose our source of income — and we are off on a tangent of words. I certainly do this. As a parent, I have to catch myself often to stop from saying something or acting out in ways I don’t want my sons to copy. I am not always successful at curtailing my behavior, but I make a concerted effort!
One thing I have noticed is… if I focus on being loving, pausing for just a second and remembering the person is just like me, may be having a bad day or just didn’t see my car… it makes a huge difference.
Finding one thousand different ways to say I love you to the world is a great tool to keep me on track! Since it will take up most of my thinking time to even come up with that many, there will be a whole lot less time to spend thinking about anything else!
Affirmation: I practice saying I love you in creative ways today!
