Calling Forth Oneness
by Minister Cherri Murphy
“For of those to whom much is given, much is required” ~Luke 12:48
I believe there is a “Divine Shaking” of some sort happening inside each of us, saying, “More is required of you.” This Divine Shaking arrives when silence is no longer an option — as it is rather uncomfortable, arriving at inconvenient moments.
I realize that I have participated in creating a society that is filled with unresolved grief appearing chronically distant and emotionally unavailable; a form of what we know as Separation. If change is ever going to come, I know that collectively we must call forth Oneness. We must engage in our Philosophy which addresses God in a way that is responsive to the human grief and trauma we read in the newspapers, or watch on television. We must engage our understanding of this Divine Presence in the anxious expressions we see in the mirror or our reflections of others throughout the day. Most importantly, we must stand in our knowing there is a Divine Love in us that supports us regardless of the conditions we are facing. It’s about remembering what is important to us–liberating, loving relationships with self and others.
Today, I invite you to join me in a call to Oneness by choosing to choose a thought which allows you to look into a stranger’s eyes today saying hello. Choose a thought that contributes to the belief that the hues of melanin are all of Divine’s favorite colors.
Yes, it is a life’s journey, yet all of our lives are interdependent. Who is in?
Affirmation: I participate in our destiny for Freedom.
