Revealing God in Some Incredible Situations
by Min. Cherri Murphy
We all are the offspring of a God which moves in each and everything.
~inspired by Acts 17:28
What if we imagined that God was in each and everything and every situation? In our daily interaction, what if we imagined that God was talking with God? Think about that… Would you part your lips and say hello as you passed by a stranger? Would your arguments with your partner or friends play out differently? On your daily commute, would you see God attempting to merge into your lane and allow IT in? Would you see 1:4 children in poverty? Would our 3rd largest employer be the prison industrial complex? Unfortunately, if you are like me, there are some narratives which I have co-signed that have limited my capacity to be intimately related with myself and others. This mode of thinking at times has denied the truth that we are all interconnected, related and that God works through each of us.
By shifting our lens from some of our traditional beliefs of thinking about God which is as separate and apart to a more expansive, inclusive and relational Spirit, I suspect the lived experience of a loving-engaging God would be different for us all. So this week I invite you to turbo charge your encounters with God by looking for opportunities to be more loving in your daily interactions. Conjure up thoughts and feelings in your heart which supports your daily interactions of God talking with God. I suspect this approach will support your relationships in revealing God in each and every thing and in every situation.
Affirmation: I will allow a more loving God to show up in my daily interactions.
